Vaishno Devi Booking ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website or plan a yatra with us, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. What We Collect

When you build an itinerary, request a quote, or contact us, we collect the personal data you provide directly:

  • Name and phone number (required to plan and confirm your trip)
  • WhatsApp number, if different from your phone number
  • Email address (optional)
  • Travel date, city of origin, and budget preference
  • Your itinerary selections (hotel category, transport, helicopter preference, add-on attractions)
  • Any message you send us directly
  • Internal notes and enquiry status our team records while planning your trip (e.g. call/follow-up notes)

We also automatically capture limited technical and marketing-attribution data: which advertisement or search result brought you to the site (UTM parameters, Google/Meta click IDs), the page you landed on, and your browser's referrer — stored in a session cookie that clears when you close your browser.

2. Why We Collect It

We use this data solely to plan and deliver your yatra: building your itinerary and price, confirming bookings over WhatsApp or phone, and following up on enquiries. Attribution data helps us understand which marketing channels are effective, so we can keep quotes accurate and pricing fair.

3. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary to deliver your trip or run the business:

  • Hotels and transport partners, to confirm your booking
  • WhatsApp Business, to send you your itinerary and confirmations
  • Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram), in hashed/anonymized form, to measure whether ad campaigns lead to real bookings
  • Payment processors, only if and when you choose to pay online (see our Terms)

4. Data Retention

We retain lead and booking data for as long as needed to deliver your trip and meet our accounting/legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized. You can request earlier deletion — see Section 6.

5. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No online system is 100% secure, but we do not store payment card details on our own servers.

6. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Withdraw consent and request erasure of your data, subject to any legal retention requirements
  • Raise a grievance about how your data has been handled

An erasure request is carried out by permanently deleting your record — name, contact details, itinerary selections, internal notes, and payment records — from our systems.

7. Cookies

We use a first-touch attribution cookie to remember which marketing source brought you to the site, and standard analytics cookies if you've consented to them via our cookie/tracking tools. No cookie we set is used to sell your data to third parties.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
